Lady Briza was the step-sister and first lover of God Emperor Dominax I, as well as the mother to his firstborn daughter, Princess Cendra. After the destruction of her settlement, she played a major role in assisting her step-brother’s aims to build an empire that would rule in an eternal peace, preventing such tragedies from ever occurring again.

Early Life In Nitri

Conceived after her mother, Cendra The Elder, spent several nights with multiple men, Briza was born in the year 26 BVE inside the small human settlement of Nitri. She was raised alongside her step-brother, Dominax, a boy her mother had adopted after the death of a close friend.

The siblings spent their early years training together under the mentorship of their mother, learning to hunt and fight. Though Dominax began to grow more critical of the ruling Elders of Nitri as they matured, Briza shared no interest in politics, concerning herself only with her tiny family. When Dominax began to manifest strange abilities, such as conjuring electricity and flame from his mere fingertips, both she and Cendra risked their safety without hesitation in assisting to conceal his otherworldly powers from the eyes of the population.

In her youth, she would often test her abilities against her step-brother in sparring matches, dueling and wrestling. As she grew older, however, a physical intimacy slowly formed between them, and after a particularly long fight, Dominax claimed her virginity in a moment of passion. They concealed their act from their mother, becoming hidden lovers.

The Fall Of Nitri

In the year 5 BVE, Briza joined her family on a hunting expedition, becoming one of many groups sent to collect food for the population of Nitri. Though they had completed several such expeditions over the years, 5 BVE would prove to be the last. She, Cendra, and Dominax journeyed deep into the rainforest as a trio, hunting whatever prey they could find.

On the 12th day of Onis, after a successful hunt of an avidion, Dominax and Briza snuck away from their camp to make love among the trees of the rainforest. Exploring their step-sibling lusts, Dominax informed her that, for the first time, he intended to spill his seed within her, entirely certain that she’d fall pregnant. Though initially reluctant to risk having a child, believing the time wasn’t right to expand their small family, she eventually gave in and agreed.

Both Briza and Dominax were awoken the next morning, the 13th of Onis, when Cendra witnessed billowing smoke coming from the direction of Nitri. Having been nearby after traveling to conclude their expedition, they were able to run the remaining miles to the settlement. They arrived in time to see an army from the nearby Chiefdom of Zilrin besieging the walls, led by Chief Manith, a legendary Lanthian ex-slave.

Watching as Nitri was swarmed and burned, Cendra led Briza and Dominax to join the remaining warriors fighting to resist the slaughter. As they fought, Briza was ordered by her mother to split off from the battle to join a group of warriors defending the retreat of the children and elderly of the settlement. She obeyed, separating to led the warriors through the southern gate to escape.

Defending the citizens in her care with the few warriors that remained, she led them to hide among the trees of the rainforest as Nitri’s defenses were entirely defeated. Unable to do anything but hope that her mother and brother had escaped, she remained with the group until the fires burnt out.

After waiting until the warriors of Zilrin had carried away whatever valuables were spared from the destruction, Briza and her group returned to the ruins of Nitri. Seeing that everything she had ever known was reduced to smoldering ash, she began to sort through the bodies to identify the dead.

To her sorrow, she discovered Cendra’s body, having been slain in battle. She buried her mother with the help of the survivors, placing their dead in graves in the center of the settlement. However, she was unable to find Dominax’s body, allowing her to clung to the hope that he had somehow escaped the slaughter.

Rebuilding

Several days later, as the survivors lingered among the ruins of their settlement, Briza was reunited with her brother when Dominax returned to what remained of Nitri, having escaped the battle, though not without grievous injuries. He was accompanied by a woman named Xenia, a healer that had cared for him during his recovery.

After despairing of their situation, Briza watched as Dominax rallied the survivors, claiming command over the group with a speech that urged them to leave Nitri to rebuild. When a man by the name of Ortis challenged his right to leadership, Briza assisted her brother by tossing her sword to him. Ortis was finally defeated when Dominax revealed his otherworldly powers by electrocuting the man, leaving Briza stunned that he had exposed the secret their small family had cautiously concealed for many years.

The survivors departed under the command of their new Chief, Dominax. Briza accompanied her brother, volunteering to scout ahead as they searched for a new home. During their journey, he began to experience glimpses of a figure leading him along. Though Briza could not see the ghostly figure he described, she followed him regardless until they discovered a strange white structure placed in the center of a field. After Dominax entered alone, learning he had been led by the image of his true father, The Creator himself, he commanded the survivors to begin rebuilding.

Over the next few months, they formed a new settlement around the structure they called the pod. Granted the name Domani, after Dominax, Briza worked alongside the survivors to build basic defenses.

During this time, Briza learned that Dominax had not only slept with Xenia, though impregnated her as well. As it was common for Chiefs to claim multiple mates at once, she slowly grew accustomed to sharing her lover.

When Domani was sufficiently defended and supplied, Dominax departed with his new advisors, Clin, Salduin, and Hesin, to travel to the neighboring settlement of Omrin, despite Briza’s concerns for his safety. In a scheme to conquer two settlements at once, Dominax planned to coax the Chief of Omrin into attacking Zilrin, instructing Briza and Xenia to seize Omrin while the bulk of the settlement’s forces were away.

Enacting her brother’s plan, Briza led a group to infiltrate Omrin at night, having been granted details of the settlement’s weaknesses during Dominax’s visit. After reaching the throne room inside the central stronghold, she spoke to Xenia, revealing her misgivings about betraying a new ally. While Briza expressed her desire for Dominax to focus on rebuilding rather than conquering, noting she’d rather have their children possess a father than inherit a larger domain, Xenia was more than happy to assist their mate in gaining power, desiring for their children to become rulers. Their warriors brought the captured Chief, Korvis, before the pair of commanding women. Though she had accepted that they’d need to kill the defenseless man, Briza was disturbed by Xenia’s cruelty, for the woman needlessly revealed the death of Omrin’s heir, assassinated by Hesin during the battle of Zilrin, to Korvis before cutting his throat.

Returning to Domani in victory, she was reunited with Dominax. Later, accidentally awoken by her lover inside the large hut that had been constructed outside the pod for their new High-Chief, Briza expressed her concern that Xenia was simply using him to gain power for herself. When Dominax revealed he was well aware of her ambitions, caring little as she was useful, Briza revealed what had occurred inside Omrin, speaking of her disgust for Xenia’s needless sadism. Dominax urged her to trust his judgement, and she agreed. Their conversation was interrupted by Xenia herself, finding them to remind Briza of the gifts they had prepared for their mate. She presented a suit of chimira-silk, the first of many that would later be named one-suits, as well as a new set of armor. He thanked them for his gifts by taking them into his bed, making love with them both at once. The women took turns riding his cock, and Briza fought to claim him first, as she was his before Xenia had known him. Several days later, Dominax and his advisors traveled to the neighboring settlement of Luxi, invited by Chief Kixanil after he and two other Chiefs pledged themselves to Dominax. While they were away, Briza gave birth to Dominax’s firstborn daughter, and Xenia gave birth to the second soon after. Upon his return, they presented their new children to their shared mate. Briza revealed that she had named their child after their mother, Cendra. Dominax approved, honoring the woman that had raised them together. At night, he took both children into the pod to Vaidimate them, officially marking them as the first members of House Vaid.

Downfall

In the year 4 BVE, months after the birth of her daughter, Briza accompanied Dominax to conquer the settlement of Falexia. Sailing upriver, their fleet endured a barrage of arrows before reaching the docks. They used ladders to climb the walls, and Briza fought at her mate’s side as they battled against their enemies. The sight of his otherworldly powers disturbed her, watching his lightning and fire slaughter their foes.

Capturing the massive settlement, Dominax claimed the throne, imprisoning the former ruler, a young man by the name of High-Chief Minax. While Briza led their warriors through the streets of Falexia to enforce peace, Xenia assisted Dominax in seducing Minax’s concubine, Niria granting her a secret offer. To save the life of her mate, the girl agreed to conceive a child with Dominax, naming the child the ruler of Falexia under his command, while she ruled as a regent until he came of age.

Days later, Briza and Xenia were tasked by Dominax to castrate Minax, sparing his life, though removing his threat as a potential rival. They went to him in the dungeon, finding him bound. Though distasteful, Briza accepted that such bloody tasks were a part of war, even if she disliked them. She explained to Minax that his concubine had bargained for his life, and that Dominax had agreed to let him live as her gelded slave while she ruled Falexia. She apologized for what she had to do, though she attempted to reassured Minax that he would lose his freedom and fertility, though he’d still be alive with the woman he loved.

In contrast, Xenia took great joy in tormenting Minax by explaining that Dominax had already bred his beloved Niria, revealing that she had assisted with the conception herself. Briza was disgusted by her harsh words, trying to counter them with her own.

When she reached her limit with Xenia’s cruelty, Briza pushed her aside, stating that she’d do the castration herself, for she wouldn’t allow her to torment the prisoner any longer. They fought over the knife, snatching it back and forth. The unstable peace that had persisted between them for months gradually crumbled as they argued.

The question of loyalty to Dominax was brought up as their true thoughts about each other came forth. Xenia noted that Briza’s loyalty didn’t prevent Dominax from planting his seed inside her womb.

“You believe that makes us equal in his eyes? He uses you, Xenia, just as you use him. You are merely a womb to him, a pretty body that he may lay with. Simply ask yourself a single question, whose child do you believe he’ll name as heir? The daughter of a healer, or the child of the woman he was raised aside?”

Pointing out that Dominax would certainly make her child his heir over Xenia’s, Briza unknowingly turned her rival’s thoughts to murder. She struck at the heart of Xenia’s ambitions, and in turn, Xenia silently vowed to remove Briza forever. Though she quietly obeyed by castrating Minax without another teasing word, Xenia’s decision was made.

On the 49th of Fonic, 4 BVE, Dominax and his warriors returned to Domani in triumph. In celebration, he consolidated his new lands to officially form The Kingdom of Vaidrin, naming himself king. To honor the person that had been at his side the longest, he permitted Briza the honor of carrying his new crown during his coronation ceremony, a helmet of white chimira steel. She presented it to her mate before the celebrating masses, and he put it atop his head himself.

In the days that followed, celebrations continued throughout Domani. While Briza tended to her new daughter and spent many hours each day beside Dominax’s throne, guarding him as citizens came to an audience with their new king, Xenia purchased two slaves, twin sisters. Secretly, she tasked them with assisting in the assassination of Briza.

As her death was in motion, Briza witnessed an attempt upon Dominax’s life as well. While allowing the population to seek an audience with their new king by presenting themselves before his throne, Dominax was attacked when a group of conspirators presented themselves as concerned citizens. Claiming to hold a responsibility towards their fellow humans by killing a tyrant, they surged forwards and attempted to kill Dominax. Briza and the guards beneath her command acted quickly by rushing to defend their king. When assassins were defeated, the last of them proclaimed to be The Cult of Ortis before Dominax stepped on his throat.

Briza was an exceptionally loyal woman with a deep love for her family. Though she expressed her affection through jokes and insults, she often showed her gentler side in private moments. She cared little for power or a throne, and would have gladly lived a simple life, though she served her step-brother’s ambitions loyally.

Though strong and aggressive in battle, Briza was never cruel. She understood that war required bloodshed, though she never desired to spill more blood than was required.
