God Emperor Dominax I Vaid

“I do not wish to live as others do. I desire…to rule. If I cannot, if I must spend my life among ordinary beings…then the elders may as well have thrown me into the river alongside my mother.”

Biography

Pre-Birth

Before the birth of the first God Emperor, Dorian The Creator observed the inhabitants of Magnius from aboard The Chimira without intervention. His desire to study how the population of each species would progress without his guidance came to an end approximately one thousand years after the creation of Ayphieal when he discovered a mate worthy of producing an heir to his power. Known only as The Drowned Women, Dorian sensed the extraordinary potential a child of their blood would possess.

Intent on siring a being of such immense power, Dorian revealed himself to The Drowned Woman and invited her aboard The Chimira. When she fell pregnant with his child, the future God Emperor Dominax, Dorian tended to her and satiated her curiosity and ambition by gifting her his knowledge in the hope that she would one day train their son to utilize the powers of his bloodline.

Before the birth of his son, Dorian vaidimated Dominax within his mother’s womb, removing the Vek from his soul and unlocking the full potential of his power.

Birth

In the year 27 BVE, Dominax was born aboard The Chimira. Dorian allowed the baby’s mother to return to the surface of Magnius aboard a piece of The Chimira, known as The Pod, and wrapped Dominax in a white cloak of chimira silk. She returned to her native human settlement of Nitri with the desire of spreading her newfound knowledge to every corner of Ayphieal.

Faced with the truth of their world’s origins, however, the elders of Nitri rejected her teachings as baseless heresy. She was imprisoned and executed upon their collective command, drowned in the great river near Nitri. Her infant son would have swiftly joined her in death, were it not for her wisdom in placing him in the care of her trusted friend, Cendra.

With his connection to The Drowned Woman remaining unknown to The Elders, Dominax’s life was spared. In honor of her deceased friend, Cendra raised the boy as her own alongside her own biological daughter.

Early Life In Nitri

After the death of his true mother, Dominax spent the first twenty-two years of his life among the people of Nitri. Raised alongside his step sister Briza by his adoptive mother Cendra, he learned to hunt and fight at an early age. Together they lived within a small hut inside Nitri’s walls, often joining hunting excursions intended to collect meat for the population to subsidize trade.

As a boy, Dominax was considered to be quiet yet clever, often lost in thought. When he learned the truth of his biological mother, little time was required before he began to resent the ruling Elders. He met every action and decision they took with a quiet distain, judging what he’d do differently if he were to lead Nitri.

When the powers of he bloodline began to manifest in the form of small bursts of fire and electricity, Cendra protected her adopted son by forbidding him to reveal his nature to anyone outside their tiny family. Though frustrated, he understood the necessity, for he had only to think of his mother’s execution to know the danger he faced. The silver of his eyes were unable to be concealed, yet they did little to make him stand out beyond a rare curiosity. Dreams of a cloaked figure would often plague him as a child as, unbeknownst to him, Dorian made failed attempts to guide him.

Though he was unable to explore the potential of his powers, he trained his skills in combat instead. Often sparring and wrestling with his step sister Briza in his youth, their affections grew as they matured. In a moment of passion after a long duel, Dominax claimed his first mate when he took Briza’s virginity. They began a secret affair that lasted several years under the notice of their mother.

The Fall Of Nitri

“It’s foolish for the elders to thin our number of capable fighters with these hunting expeditions.”

– Dominax, After a Successful Hunt, 5 BVE.

In the year 5 BVE, when Dominax was in his early twenties, he joined his small family to complete what would turn out to be the final hunting expedition they’d ever experience together.

On the 12th day of Onis, after defeating an avidion, Dominax and Briza snuck away from their camp to make love among the trees of the rainforest. Their step sibling carnal pleasures culminated when, for the first time, Dominax bred Briza by spilling his seed within her. Unaware of the extent of his hidden senses, he was unable to explain his certainty that she would become pregnant with his child.

The next morning, the 13th of Onis, Dominax was awoken from his sleep by Cendra when she witnessed billowing smoke coming from the direction of Nitri. They returned to their settlement in time to see an army from the nearby Chiefdom of Zilrin besieging the walls. Led by Chief Manith, a legendary Lanthian ex-slave, Nitri was quickly overrun and burned to the ground.

Dominax and his family fought in the battle, though after Cendra ordered Briza to join a group of warriors defending the retreat of the children and elderly of the settlement, Dominax watched as his adoptive mother was slain by both a stay arrow that pierced her neck and a sword thrust that went through her abdomen.

Enraged by Cendra’s death, he fought as his allies continued to fall around him until he stood alone. Overwhelmed by enemy warriors, he finally fell to his knees when his wounds proved to be too much. Peering up at The Chimira looming high above him in the sky, only able to hope that Briza and their potential child had escaped, he accepted his death as a foe raised a sword to end his life. Before the killing blow could be delivered, however, the world around him froze and drained of all color. Momentarily spared from death, Dominax was met with the appearance of Dorian, who struggled to tell him to run.

Though utterly confused, the brief moment granted Dominax just enough time to roll out of the path of the incoming sword. His reinvigorated drive to live provided enough of a surprise to his enemies that he was able to flee. He made his way towards the great river flowing near Nitri, using his powers publicly for the first time to frighten foes out of his way.

His pursuers chased him upon lixidions until he was forced to throw himself into the raging river to escape, nearly drowning from the weight of his chest plate when he was swept away. Fighting for breath, he managed to pull himself onto the beach far downstream, losing consciousness from blood loss.

Rebirth

Remaining unconscious for two days, Dominax experienced visions of Dorian. He appeared as a hooded man standing before a large structure, later known as The Pod. Dorian asked Dominax to seek him out just before he awoke from his dream.

Realizing he was inside of a stranger’s hut, he was met with the arrival of a beautiful woman by the name of Xenia. She explained that she had pulled him from the beach, using her knowledge as a healer to keep him alive. Having witnessed his body’s ability to heal extraordinarily fast, alongside his strange silver eyes, she grew curious about his true nature. After the loss of all he had ever known, Dominax relinquished his long held secrecy and demonstrated his powers. Indebted after she had saved his life, he offered to grant any request within reason to repay her, yet Xenia instead requested to simply serve him. Coming from a long line of healers, she had been trained to seek the truth of nature. Though every civilization held their own beliefs, she explained that his powers were something tangible and real, gifts from the gods. He accepted her loyalty, stating his need to return to whatever remained of Nitri.

Traveling upriver, Dominax and Xenia arrived to see survivors burying their dead within the walls of the burned settlement. Consisting of those who had fled or been away hunting at the time of the attack, their number remained less than one hundred survivors from a previous population of three thousand. Among them was Briza, having just buried Cendra’s body. Reuniting, Dominax spoke to Cendra’s grave, vowing to protect her daughter and make something of the life she granted him.

Chiefdom And Truth

“Twenty-two years ago, you all stood by and watched as my mother was drowned. You did nothing. Yet, I forgive you, and offer you a chance for redemption. A chance to rebuild! Follow me, and we shall destroy those who slaughtered our families and friends! Though challenge me, and you will join Ortis in death.”

– Dominax, After Defeating Ortis, 5 BVE.

Devastated and leaderless, it was clear that the survivors of Nitri needed someone to take command. Having grown tired of watching lesser men lead them to their destruction, Dominax rallied what remained of his people, naming himself Chief. He urged them to rebuild elsewhere, as there was no guarantee their enemies would not return. His announcement was met with resistance. Of those that spoke up were three men, Clin, Salduin, and Hesin.

A fourth man, Ortis, stepped forward to challenge him directly. They dueled for the right rule, ending when Dominax revealed his powers for all to see. No longer willing to conceal his secret, he showed no mercy when he electrocuted his foe to death. Demonstrating his power for all to see, he explained to the crowd that although he knew not of where they came from, his abilities would led them to greatness. Salduin, a deeply religious man, was the first to kneel at his feet.

After gathering all they could salvage from the ruins, Dominax led his people to safety. For days they traveled through the rainforest while he secretly followed glimpses of Dorian. They finally emerged into a field, where they discovered the large pod structure made of white steel that had appeared in Dominax’s dreams. He commanded his people to remain back while he investigated the structure alone, for he desired to find its secrets for himself before allowing them closer. He was mystified when the door to the structure opened on its own, not knowing that it had scanned his blood to verify his lineage. Stepping inside, the doors closed behind him, locking him in darkness.

Inside he discovered a large crescent moon symbol decorating the floor, as well as a strange orb that seemed to speak directly to his mind. Time slowed around him, much as it had when he was nearly killed, and he was met with the presence of Dorian. The ghostly figure revealed that he was not only the creator of his world, but Dominax’s father as well. He explained the truth of his mother’s death, and Dominax demanded to know more. He sought an answer to why he had been born with such strange abilities. Dorian explained that, although he had once possessed hopes for his son’s future, his ambitions died with Dominax’s mother. After her loss, Dorian stated that he only wanted his son to live a simple and happy life safe from the world’s horrors.

Dorian urged him to simply settled down and start a family of his own, using his powers and the protection of The Pod to remain safe. He stated that the strange orb would teach him how to make the durable white steel that The Pod was constructed of, allowing him to sell whatever he forged to earn a comfortable life. Dominax refused.

“You ask me to live a simple life, one of peace and comfort. An existence that any ordinary man would eagerly accept. Yet…I am no ordinary man. My answer is no.”

– Dominax, Speaking Of His Ambitions, 5 BVE.

Dominax stated that he had a family and a settlement mere days ago, which had been ripped away. He explained that the world Dorian had created was wrought with chaos, which he could no longer ignore. With his inherited powers, he desired to take the world and give it order, never allowing the horrors that had claimed his people to occur again. No longer could civilizations be allowed to clash over petty arguments, and no longer would people be forced to live in fear that everything would be taken away from them through bloodshed. He gave voice to his hidden ambitions to rule, allowing only a god to judge.

Dorian was distraught to learn that his son expected him to sit by and watch him risk his life, though Dominax revealed that he would rather have been thrown into the water with his mother than live the life of an ordinary man. When Dorian finally accepted his choice, he explained that he would do all he could to offer guidance, though never again could he save his life, for his powers had been greatly damaged when he revealed himself during Nitri’s fall.

After departing The Pod, Dominax settled the new settlement of Domani around the strange structure, named after himself. Over the course of a month, the remaining group of nearly one hundred Nitri survivors built a small camp that would one day become The Capital of The Vaid Empire itself.

In that time, Dominax studied the orb, learning how to transform ordinary metal into a white steel that he named chimira steel. During his experimentations, he forged the first weapon to ever be transformed into chimira steel, a dagger that would later be known as The White Teardrop. Plants known as chimira flowers were also discovered growing around The Pod, producing the strange fabric that his white cloak was made from. He immediately ordered several non-combat experienced survivors to begin farming these strange flowers, creating chimira silk.

Vengeance

“I am Chief Dominax, leader of the last of Nitri’s survivors. Though I will not kneel, I bring you something far greater…an offer.”

– Chief Dominax, Speaking To Chief Korvis, 5 BVE.

As Domani grew, Dominax pondered his retaliation. A month later, he departed to travel to the nearby settlement of Omrin to ally with their Chief, a man named Korvis. While leaving their growing settlement in the hands of Briza and Xenia, Dominax allowed Clin, Salduin, and Hesin to accompany him on his journey, for they had proven themselves to be above the population by speaking up.

Upon arriving in Omrin, Dominax and his new advisors met with Chief Korvis and gifted him The White Teardrop. Astonished by the strange metal, the Chief was convinced to join his forces with the survivors of Nitri to attack the settlement of Zilrin. Though Dominax promised to grant the conquered settlement to Korvis after the battle, he held no intention of relinquishing power.

While Dominax was offered a night with one of Korvis’s daughters, he commanded his advisors to inspect the defenses of Omrin, not revealing his plan to conquer their new ally when he no longer had need of him. Dominax selected Dunith to enjoy for the night, seeing her ambition. He impregnated her after he learned of her desire to sit upon her father’s throne.

Having accepted command over the warriors of Omrin, Dominax led his new army to attack Zilrin, taking the rival Chiefdom by surprise. When Fildir, the only son of Kovis, sent in his father’s place, took issue with the fact that Dominax hadn’t fulfilled his word to lend his own people to the attack, Dominax convinced Hesin to secretly slay the boy during the battle to remove an obstacle to Dunith’s ascension.

Zilrin fell after a bloody battle in which Chief Manith was captured by Clin, allowing Dominax to claim the throne. Crowing himself as High-Chief, he publicly executed Manith by electrocuting him until death. Having seized his vengeance, he received word that Briza and Xenia had obeyed his orders to conquer Omrin in his absence, utilizing the information he had provided to sneak into the settlement and take the throne. Having cut Kovis’s throat, Xenia placed Dunith upon her father’s throne, allowing the girl to swear fealty to Dominax as her High-Chief.

“What better symbol to display on our banners than our greatest advantage? A proclamation that we know what’s best for you.”

– High-Chief Dominax, Claiming The Crescent Moon Symbol, 5 BVE.

Returning to Domani in victory, Dominax claimed the crescent moon symbol for his own banners, taken from the floor of The Pod. His pair of pregnant concubines gifted him a one-suit, the first of its kind, and a suit of armor that he transformed into chimira steel.

He met with a captured prisoner, a castrated Lanthian male and former slave of Chief Manith by the name of Lalian, who sought to prove his usefulness to his new master. The green man explained that he had been tasked with designing various structures and weapons for Manith’s use that could now be utilized to assist Dominax. Skeptical of the man’s claim, he instructed the Lanthian to recreate the designs from his own memory to prove his intelligence. Lalian eagerly agreed, stating that he did not seek mere freedom, but to serve Dominax directly, wishing to see his designs be created. He’d have freedom with a purpose.

While Lalian toiled with his designs over the following days, Dominax was visited by three neighboring Chiefs, Kixanil, Priax, and Ainir. Spiritual men, they stated that they had encountered rumors of his strange abilities, and had come to witness a demonstration for themselves, offered their allegiance if he could prove his power. After electrocuting Kixanil’s guard to death, they bowed as his loyal vassals.

As his political power increased, so too did a secret resistance grow in the shadow of his influence. Taking the title of The Cult of Ortis, named after the first man to resist Dominax, a group formed in the aftermath of his victory, pledging to end his reign. Believing his powers to be heretical, they swore to let no conqueror destroy their traditions or beliefs.

Rise of House Vaid

In the following days, Lalian presented his designs for a colossal fortress in the shape of a pyramid, larger than any human structure. Deciding that the future Grand Pyramid would be the centerpiece of his rising dominion, Dominax accepted the intelligent man into his service.

Seeking to solidify the loyalty of his first allies, he summoned Clin, Salduin, and Hesin to offer them official positions as his advisors. To prove their commitment, he commanded them to remove the fifth finger of their left hands.

“I shall force no man to seize an opening to uplift himself, as only those with the will to grasp such an opportunity are worthy of my attention in any case. If you wish to leave, do so now, as you shall not be punished.”

– High-Chief Dominax, Offering Positions of Loyalty, 5 BVE.

Salduin was the first to accept his position, seeking enlightenment about their existence from a man with Dominax’s otherworldly powers. Hesin agreed next, desiring purpose, to assist in the creation of the new world that Dominax promised and forge a world with justice. Clin was the last, hoping the final peace they’d fight for would make him a good man.

On the 10th of Fixuin, 5 BVE, Dominax and his new advisors traveled to Luxi to meet with his new vassals regarding their next conquests, utilizing Kixanil’s stronghold while Domani’s throne room remained under construction. There, he encountered the first Arkos female he had ever seen, the beloved concubine of Kixanil by the name of Wros. When it became apparent that Chief Ainir’s traveling party would not arrive before sundown, Dominax and his men were granted rooms for the night. When Kixanil fell asleep, Wros snuck into Dominax’s sleeping quarters, claiming that she sought to meet their new High-Chief. After discussing Arkos culture, her true intensions became clear. She explained that she feared for her bloodline, for Kixanil was likely sterile. Seeking to grant her mate an heir, she utilized Dominax’s attraction and bred with him, promising never to reveal their affair.

“Have you all forgotten why it is you follow me? Why, in a matter of months, Domani has risen from the remnants of Nitri?”

– High-Chief Dominax, During The Meeting of Luxi, 5 BVE.

The next morning, Dominax discussed the future of his rule with his vassals. Priax expressed his skepticism regarding their new ruler’s aims to form the first human empire, let alone conquer the entirety of the continent, noting that they were merely a High-Chiefdom. After much discussion, Dominax agreed to delay their next conquest by seven months to allow them time to reinforce Domani and gather their resources, seeking to create further weapons of chimira steel.

Returning to Domani, Lalian informed him that his concubines had given birth in his absence. Meeting his new children, he discovered that Briza had birthed a daughter, Cendra The Younger, named after her fallen mother, while Xenia had birthed a daughter by the name of Vixin mere days after Briza.

Sensing that his daughters had inherited his powers, he brought them alone into The Pod, seeking to Vaidimate them both. He followed Dorian’s instructions to remove the natural Vek, revealing the hidden silver of their eyes that they had inherited from his blood, unlocking their full potential. Naming them as the first members of House Vaid, he declared to himself that their dynasty would rule eternally.

Over the course of the next seven months, Domani was reinforced and expanded, while construction of The Grand Pyramid officially began. Workers devoted to their mystical High-Chief slaved away hauling gargantuan block of pristine white stone into place.

The agreed upon peace came to a bloody end when Dominax and his advisors invaded the neighboring High-Chiefdom of Falexia, while his vassals sought to conquer Redin. Commanding a fleet of eleven ships, they landed outside the walls of Falexia and crushed the city’s defenses in a decisive battle. Enslaving the High-Chief, Minax, he used his shoulder as a footstool when the young man spat at his feet.

Minax’s beloved concubine, Niria, was brought to Dominax at night, and after bargaining for Minax’s life, she agreed to bear an heir for her new master that would one day be placed upon Falexia’s throne. With Xenia’s assistance, Dominax bred her.

After commanding Briza and Xenia to castrate Minax, allowing the man to serve the new regent of Falexia, his former concubine, Dominax returned to Domani in triumph on the 49th of Fonic, 4 BVE. Reuniting with Lalian, the Lanthian presented a helmet fashioned in the shape of a crown to celebrate his victory.

Before nightfall, all of Domani gathered to witness his coronation. Choosing to crown himself, he announced the creation of The Kingdom of Vaidrin, naming himself as King.

Sexuality

Dominax was known across The Vaid Empire as a prolific breeder, absolutely delighting in siring children. He aimed to see his seed spread to every corner of Magnius, seeking to continue his bloodline eternally. He enjoyed impregnating many lovers, and took great satisfaction whenever his children or grandchildren conceived children on their own.

His incestuous love for his own biological offspring rivaled his desire to breed, taking ample pride whenever he sired a beautiful daughter or granddaughter. Dominax believed that lust between kin was the purest form of desire, taking extreme pleasure whenever he impregnated his own offspring or descendants.

Monogamy was almost entirely disregarded, as he took any woman to bed that he desired, including the mates of other men. This extended to his children, as he believed his daughters deserved the highest pleasures they could achieve, approving of them sleeping with anyone they desired. However, he was extremely possessive of his concubines, executing any man that dared to so much as touch them.
