Biography

Chosen To Rule

Born in the year 26 BVE, Minara’s early life was much the same as any other Lanthian women living in The City of Talvale. She lived freely, contributing to her people in any way she could while enjoying the services of the male slave population.

At a young age, Minara showed a remarkable talent in wielding a spear. Training for combat, maturing into a fierce warrior, she gained the respect of those around her. Demonstrating that she was more than a mindless brawler, however, she strived to educated herself, displaying a natural intelligence that surpassed those she fought beside.

Seeking to aid her city with her womb as much as with her spear, she sought out the breeding service of the ruling Priarch, falling pregnant four times. The eggs she birth, like those of all women beneath the traditions of The Lanthian Empire, were placed in Talvale’s local Temple of Incubation and hatched anonymously.

During her pregnancies, she was unable to serve her city in battle, and thus she chose to spend such periods serving as one of the many women who cared for the children of the city.

While enduring her third pregnancy in the year 6 AVE, she encountered a young girl among the children she was sworn to tend to. Named Imara, the girl quickly demonstrated that she held a natural intelligence, reminding Minara of herself. Growing fond of the girl, wanting to gain more time with her, Minara fell pregnant with her fourth child soon after giving birth, aiming to extend their time together.

As she would never know the identities of the children she birthed, she grew to regard Imara as her daughter, showing her special attention that spat in the face of their traditions.

In the year 8 AVE, The Miarch of Waith passed away. Requiring a new ruler, the people selected Minara to ascend the throne of Talvale. Despite those around her finding her behavior in favoring Imara to be odd, she had long earned the respect of the people.

Though Miarchs were chosen for their wisdom and knowledge, primarily relying on their Priarch and warriors to defend their people, Minara was among a special few throughout Lanthian history that was both highly intelligent and deadly in battle.

Hoping to groom Imara into a successor that would follow her example, she trained the girl daily with a spear and granted her frequent lessons to educate her.

Her favoritism of Imara greatly irritated many traditionalist, for all women were intended to be equal. Ever bold, bending to no one’s opinions, yet also ruling wisely and competently, she began to be referred to as ‘Minara The Audacious’.

Future Lost

On the 22nd of Twic, 18 AVE, Imara requested to fly through the jungle, as she frequently did. Though Minara disliked the girl taking unnecessary risks, her duties for the day left her busy, and she was unable to continue the girl’s training until later in the day. Reluctantly agreeing to let her go, Minara made her promise to return by midday, and not to venture beyond the outposts circling the city. The girl agreed and departed.

When midday came and went without any sign of Imara’s return, Minara grew worried and accompanied a group of warriors to look for her. They found no trace of her.

The days passed, and Minara continued to search. When it was clear they would never find what had happened to her, likely having been consumed by something foul in the jungle, she was forced to call off the searches, no longer able to neglect her throne.

Devastated, Minara mourned her lost daughter.
