Importance
Nula-bal was the firstborn child of Aifa, The Mother of Tentacles, and the only offspring of The Great Onaalag to survive long enough to reproduce, unleashing his bloodline upon the world.
Biography
Spawn Of The Great One
Conceived when his mother, Aifa, was offered as a sacrifice to The Great Onaalag, a massive tentacled beast below The Holy City of Aslyd, Nula-bal was created in the year 768 BVE to fulfill his sire’s aims for the future. With visions of his descendants consuming the land in a tentacled swarm generation after generation, culminating with the creation of a great being known as Synaalag, Onaalag violated Aifa and impregnated her using his tentacles. He shattered her mind and bent her to his will, caring for her over the course of several months while Nula-bal grew inside her womb.
On the 19th of Fixuin, Onaalag was murdered by a group of Aslyd warriors. Aifa escaped death, surviving the monstrosities of the jungle before giving birth to Nula-bal shortly after. Having found refuge on a narrow ledge hanging from a cliffside, she cared for her new tentacled son.
On the 24th of Fixuin, Aifa returned from a hunt. She gave her son sustenance by spitting on his tentacle, allowing him to absorb her saliva. Ever driven by powerful instincts to breed, tempted by the fertile womb of his own young mother, Nula-bal teased Aifa with his tentacles and whispered images of pregnancy into her mind in an attempt to convince her to let him breed her. She refused, knowing she could not hunt for them and keep them alive if she fell pregnant, yet the damage inflicted upon her mind by Onaalag kept her aroused and wanting. She briefly succumbed to her lust and allowed his tentacle to slide inside her, granting him his first experience inside a vagina, before forcing him to pull out when she gathered the will to control her needs. Covering her vagina, she refused to let him breed her.
Denied of his deepest instinct, Nula-bal grew furious and dashed into the jungle, fleeing from his mother. Fueled by the consuming need to reproduce, he desperately sought out a fertile womb in which to spill his seed.
Sensing a Cavari tribe in the distance, he traveled far to discover a cave inhabited by a small tribe. Sneaking inside while the Cavaries slept, he selected the best candidate among the females to carry his child, a girl named Darmi. The daughter of the tribe’s leader, The One-Eyed Man, she slept next to her father while Nula-bal explored her young body. He restrained her with his tentacles, causing her to wake from sleep after stealing her virginity. He held her down and violated, manipulating her mind to grow to desire the pleasure he offered. When he spilled his seed inside her, he nearly broke her mind due to his inexperience using his mental abilities. So too was he unable to control the amount of sperm he unleashed, draining everything from himself until he was left absolutely exhaused.
Waking from sleep to discover what had happened to his daughter, The One-Eyed Man readied his spear in fury. Nula-bal received a vision of all that was to come, understanding Onaalag’s plan. Knowing he was but a small part in the long path that lead to Synaalag, he accepted his coming death, having served his purpose.
The One-Eyed man drove his spear into his mass, killing Nula-bal. His tentacled body was burned by the tribe, yet a piece of him lived on in Darmi’s womb, growing to become Vaecath.
Traits
Physical Appearance
Nula-bal was a small mass of slimy red tentacles. His vital organs were contained within a squishy structure in the center of his mass that was about the size of a Cavari‘s head.
At his largest size, shortly before his death, his tentacles grew long enough to touch an average Cavari’s feet and head at once. His strong appendages allowed him to move swiftly.
Personality
A simple creature, Nula-bal’s actions were primarily driven by instinct. The entire purpose of his existence was to reproduce, and he sought little more than to seek out fertile wombs and impregnate them with his offspring.
Though his mind had only begun to develop at the time of his death, he was not mindless. He held just enough intelligence to appreciate the beauty of the world around him, as well as understand the importance of Onaalag‘s plan and his place within it.
Powers
Like his father, Onaalag, Nula-bal was capable of whispering his thoughts into the minds of females. He was able to project images into their heads, though his abilities were limited.
Able to sense the fabric of reality around him, his mind could feel his vast surroundings in extreme detail, allowing him to sense the souls and fertile wombs of Cavaries from a great distance.
