Importance
The Great Wall of black stone surrounding The Holy City of Aslyd guarded the Cavari population upon The First Continent for generations. It was the first wall to ever be constructed around a city in all of Ayphieal.
History
Construction
In the year 928 BVE, The Creator placed the first Cavaries upon Ayphieal. Surrounded by the dangerous predators of The First Continent’s Deep Jungle, they struggled for survival. They made numerous attempts to construct shelters for their protection, though every attempt ended in failure, for their huts were attacked and destroyed by the monstrosities roaming the jungle.
Hoping to find better odds of survival elsewhere, many groups and individual Cavaries splintered from the population and fled into the jungle. Soon after, those that remained discovered an old entity dwelling beneath the hill upon which they struggled to survive, for Onaalag, The Creator’s first creation, made his presence known when he began to whisper his thoughts into the mind of a chosen man. This man, The First Knowledge Holder, swiftly became worshiped by those around him when Onaalag began to whisper his wisdom into the man’s head, offering knowledge that would assist the survival of the Cavaries. He granted them designs for weapons and tools, and guided them towards valuable resources. The population quickly learned how to fight back against the dangerous jungle long enough to begin building a civilization that may last. Soon after, they founded The Holy City of Aslyd atop Onaalag’s hill.
In the year 927 BVE, The First Knowledge Holder used designs offered by Onaalag, whom they worshiped as The Great One, to begin the construction of a great wall around their new city. Knowing nothing they built would survive for long without permanent defenses, the building of The Great Wall became the priority of the entire population. Onaalag’s guidance allowed them to organize their efforts to progress their work as swiftly as possible, allowing them to swallow a vast area within the perimeter of their future wall.
The Great Wall’s purpose began the moment the foundations were laid. While workers constructed the wall out of smooth black stone, warriors patrolled the perimeter of their new city and fought against monstrosities. Brick by brick, year by year, the wall rose to offer protection to those living within its grasp.
In the year 915 BVE, The Great Wall was officially completed. A looming monument surrounding all of Asyld, it held back the jungle and protected the population.

Structure
Overall Shape
The Great Wall of Aslyd was a single wall of smooth black stone that surrounded all of Aslyd. Entirely flat on top, the width of the wall permitted two rows of warriors and one row of slaves supporting their masters to line up atop it. Magnificent and tall, it loomed over the buildings behind it, separated from other nearby structures by a wide street that ran along the entire inner perimeter.
Before 761 BVE, The Great Wall was overgrown with blue and orange vines. Under the rule of The Triumvirate, the wall was covered by the tentacles of countless abominations.
The Grand Gates Of Aslyd
The only opening in The Great Wall held The Gates of Aslyd.
