History
Creation
Forged by The Creator himself, The Black Spear was granted to the Cavari population when they were first placed upon Ayphieal in the year 928 BVE to aid in their survival. Passed down over the generations, the importance of the spear was lost among the chaos of the early years of Cavari history. As The Holy City of Aslyd gradually grew in size and wealth, The Black Spear, though one of a kind, became less valuable as spears forged from gold became highly coveted.
High Seeker
Though its history was forgotten, the spear found itself in the collection of The Knowledge Holders, the rulers of Aslyd. During the reign of Knowledge Holder Mauron, the spear was gifted to High Seeker Audir in the year 775 BVE to honor the man’s new title. Holding the duty of commanding all warriors of Aslyd, as well as leading groups into the jungle surrounding Aslyd to capture outsider Cavaries as potential slaves or sacrifices, Audir used the spear to slay dozens of Cavaries and countless monstrosities in the jungle.
In the year 768 BVE, Audir was tasked by Mauron to lead a group of his most trusted warriors to secretly murder Onaalag, the great tentacled beast dwelling beneath Aslyd. The spear, among a dozen others and several torches, was used to slay the ancient and worshiped entity. Aifa, a young woman named who had been scarified to and impregnated by Onaalag, managed to escape the slaughter. Shortly after, High Seeker Audir was granted the task of hunting down Aifa and her unborn tentacled offspring.
Tracking down Aifa, as well as her companion, a girl named Darmi, Audir repeatedly used the spear. After capturing his prey, losing them, and hunting them down again, Audir lost the spear on the 11th of Thriduin, 767 BVE, after cornering Aifa and Darmi. Pulled over the edge of a cliffside into a raging river, Audir was stabbed in the hand and eye by the black spear when Aifa stole it. Though he survived his injuries, he never reclaimed the spear, as Aifa fled with it into the jungle.
